Arriving in England

Hey Everyone! I'm glad you came back to read some more. I am sorry about the delay in posts but I have been super busy preparing for an exam. Anywho! This blog will go into my arrival in England and the first few weeks or so of my being there.
Sept 11, 2010- 8:35pm my British Airways flight direct to London Heathrow departed. I was beyond nervous and terrified. This would be the first time that I ever left the country and my first time to travel alone. I had never even owned a passport.
The goodbyes with my family were of course sad. I was just as sad to leave them behind as they were to see me go.
The plane was virtually empty which was awesome, because that meant that I got to have an entire row to myself next to a window to sleep. I got settled, had dinner and a glass of free wine! (score) and I got my self tucked up for bed. It was a really easy journey, only woke up once when there was a bit of bad turbulence.
My plane landed in London at 11:25am After making a fool of myself with the luggage cart and then again with customs I made it out alive.
All the sadness and anxiety was washed away the moment I saw my boyfriend waiting at the gate to pick me up! It had been a long 3 months of not seeing him and I was beyond excited that he would be the first person I saw.
Immediately I noticed how different England was from Texas. I left Texas with the temperatures in the high 90's and arrived in a sunny low 70's England.  Perfect!
The cars being on the wrong side of the road and the driver being on the wrong side of the car still makes me nervous but I am getting use to looking right now before I dart into traffic!
I spent the first few days in England with my boyfriend and his family at their home. I am very grateful that I was able to stay with someone that I knew while I got settled and over my jet lag! It helped make a smooth transition.
During this time I also took my first train journey ever down to London with my boyfriends sister. I was a super fun trip and I will definitely talk about that soon.
I will probably just combine all the trips to London in one blog so that there aren't several blogs all talking about the same tourists spots in London.

So that wasn't really the first few weeks it was more like the first week. But I will go into more detail later!

<<<<<<<<This is me and my Mom, Step-dad, and sister!

Hello All!

Just wanted to start this blog out by saying hello, and I'm glad someone is reading this! (aside from my family) although they are the main reason I have created this blog. I wanted to create this page when I first moved to England back in September, but got way too busy to do so. I guess its a good thing that I have not had much time to do this because that means I am here doing what I was meant to be doing, going to school and traveling around! Since my time here I have met so many wonderful people and seen some amazing things. I will try and go back from the beginning and work my way to now, as far as what I have seen and does goes. Some entries will probably cover several weeks, and others may only cover one specific event.

So, as it is after 11pm I will head to bed, hopefully waking up bright and early to start going back into my memory to tell my story! I hope you all enjoy, and to my family and friends who are reading this, I know its been a long time coming and I hope you enjoy!! :) love you!
